Please take a seat in a submarine control center. You choose ship destination, send torpedoes, listen to sounds of the underwater warfield. And, of course, you hunt enemies!

Welcome aboard, Commander!

This game (or prototype ?) is my first game ever submitted for a game jam and I developed it entirely alone. Please let me know if you are interested in helping me to make a more elaborated game starting from this base.


How to play

Please use the binary executable version or a recent browser or visual effects like torpedoes explosions won't display.

  • Move : left click on the map
  • Move camera : "ZQSD" keys or Keyboard Arrows or edge scroll with mouse
  • Launch torpedo: right click on the map
  • Active sonar ping: "A" key or click the HUD sonar button
  • Toggle engine on/off: "E" key or click the HUD engine button
  • Center view on the player submarine: not implemented for the moment :-)

Events that are loud:

  • Active sonar ping
  • Engine is on (small noise)
  • Engine is on and sub is moving (stronger noise)
  • Torpedo launch

You can switch the engine off when moving. The submarine will stop without being noisy anymore.

Torpedoes are inactive at launch and will activate after a fixed activation distance. They explode at a small distance of selected destination point, or when they collide with a submarine.

Three types of echoes can appear on the map:

  • Unknown echo
  • Identfied submarine echo
  • Identified torpedo echo

Enemies are configured to launch an active sonar ping when they detect an unknown echo.

Known bugs

Here are some bugs that make the game really diffult. I am adding bug fixes in the next release, but I wait for the end of the Game Off rating time to publish.

  • When the ennemies launch a torpedo, so does the player
  • When the ennemies are attacking the player, their target position is not updated according to the player sounds they detect
  • Player stealth bar is not decreased after active sonar pings

Theme interpretation

Game Off 2025 theme was "Waves". This game speaks about sonic waves that detect threats under the oceans. Inadvertently, the way the game enemies are launching bursts of torpedoes also contribute to the feeling of a wave of threats...
